- Can we eat them straight from the packet?
No you must heat them through first. You'll find simple instructions on each and every packet.
- Can HERTA® Frankfurters be frozen?
Yes. Just make sure you freeze them on the day you buy them and definitely do not refreeze them.
- How much meat is actually in them?
Our Classics and Minis have 74% pork, our Jumbos have 70% pork and our Chicken have 72% poultry.
- What part of the animal do you use for this product?
We use good cuts like Ham, Shoulder and Belly to name but a few.
Our Frankfurters are made in France and Germany. The meat is chopped into tiny bits and put into special casings. They are then smoked using real beechwood chips to give them that lovely taste.
- Is HERTA® suitable for a gluten-free diet?
No
- Are HERTA® Frankfurters nut free?
Yes, absolutely nut free.
- How can I cook HERTA® Frankfurters?
You can cook them in lots of different ways. Try grilling, baking or frying them. We love them barbecued. Our Jumbos and Classics can easily be microwaved.
- What about the salt in HERTA®? I have heard meat products can be high in salt.
We have recently reduced the salt in our Frankfurters by 10% and have one of the lowest salt levels in any Frankfurters on the market.
- Are they high in fat?
We offer a lower fat alternative. Our Chicken frankfurters have 36% less fat than our pork frankfurters and are lower in fat then a typical pork sausage.
- Do you have any other varieties other than pork?
Yes, we have a Chicken variety.
